    Based off of work boots worn by iron miners in the 1930s, the Iron Ranger was introduced by Red Wing Heritage in the late 2000s and over the subsequent decade and a half have become iconic in the world of heritage menswear. If you were to ask a heritage nerd what his first "good boot" was, it's not unlikely that the Iron Ranger will be the answer.

    A relatively simple silhouette with a distinctive cap toe, the Iron Ranger is built on Red Wing's accommodating No.8 last which is comfortable for a wide range of foot shapes. The 8000 is a an extra special version of the Iron Ranger because, for the first time ever, Red Wing has paired this iconic silhouette with the equally iconic Oro Legacy leather. Tanned as an homage to the orange hued leather found no Red Wing's Irish Setter line in the 20th century, Oro Legacy is a leather that is arguably inseparable from the popular notion of the Red Wing brand. Tanned by S.B. foot, it has a distinct, vibrant orange color that darkens beautifully with good wear.
