Sugar Cane

Susumu Kobayashi established Toyo Enterprises Co., LTD in 1965 manufacturing products for the U.S. military, to include jeans for the Post Exchange (PX). After the end of the Vietnam War, their production shifted solely to domestic manufacturing and took on the name Sugar Cane - given by a U.S. officer stationed in Japan. Although, Sugar Cane is a Japanese company, its influences borrow heavily from American workwear, the U.S. military and American culture.
