  • Description

    Originally developed in the latter half of WW2 for units deployed in armored divisions in Europe, this style of jacket was adopted by the USAAF and quickly found favor among troops from all over. It's one of two styles offered by Buzz Rickson's famously donned by Deniro's Travis Bickle in Taxi Drive, the other of course being the iconic M-65 Jacket. 

    Designed to protect troops from the freezing rain and snow of the Italian Alps, the Tanker jacket is cut from a tightly woven cotton twill that provides excellent wind and water resistance. On the inside the Tanker sports a 26oz wool liner for serious warmth. The jacket is finished with heavy duty double needle stitching throughout and features dual rear pleats for increased mobility and comfort. This piece is a repro of the second model of tanker jacket, which swapped external patch pockets for more functional hand-warmer slash pockets.
